What if words were spoken
That could change a mind?
What if blood was taken
And applied to refine?

What if heaven replied
To a request in pain?
To answer the questions
Generations asked in vain

What if Spirit reached
Through the faithless curtain?
To the hardened heart
Would we remain certain?

Of our stature and place
Of our strength and our drive?
In the end, futility
The rebellion subsides

The breathing slows
The sight grows dim
We give thought to our life
And one thought of Him

Could we ever accept,
One who is greater?
To bow our knee
To a Lord and Savior?

Can the strength be summoned?
Can the crutch be taken?
Can the choice be made,
That we may truly awaken?
