When I was young, so many years ago,
I enjoyed Christmas time, like most little girls I know.
I would write out my wish list and check it once or twice.
Then, I’d set out cookies for Santa to come that night.
I would wake up the next morning no matter where I lived.
just to find that I got most of what was on my list.
Many years have past, most my family is gone.
My wish lists are now prayers to a true living God.
I am so thankful for Christmas, even today,
He sent His Son Jesus and He hears me when I pray.
He places my tears in a bottle just for Him to keep.
He has special angels to watch me while I sleep.
He knows that my journey through life has been long and hard.
He directs me by His Spirit and the Light of His Word.
I was born two months early, so I did not weigh much.
I had to be put in incubation, far away from my parent’s touch.
I know now His presence was near.
I believe that is why I am still here.
The Heavenly Father knows me like no other.
He was even there the day I lost my mother.
He has always been with me all of my days.
And I know He hears me when I pray.
He knows my hopes and my dreams.
He delights in the praises I sing.
This year, when I sit down to form my list.
The contents will not be for the things I wish.
It will be a list of heart filled prayers,
so that others may experience His Loving care.
