The person on the pew waits and listens intently, for God to speak
Forgetting that the one who said “Hear my word”
Said also “do my work”.
The person on the pew waits patiently longing for a fresh touch from His Spirit
Forgetting that the one who said, “I am with you always”
Said also “follow me”
The person on the pew searches for meaning and purpose
Forgetting that the one who said ’I am your God”
Said also “you are my child”
The person on the pew tries to comprehend how awesome God is
Forgetting that the one who said ”be still and know that I am God”
Said also ”work while it is day”
The person on the pew is exhilarated by the music and excited about worshipping
Forgetting that the one who said “praise”
Said also “pray”
The person on the pew fellowships with Him sharing thoughts and dreams
Forgetting that the one who said “Abide in me “
Said also “bear fruit”
The person on the pew wants to be drawn to Him. To stay with Him
Forgetting that the one who said, “Come unto me”
Said also “go unto them”
The person on the pew realizes that though I can not do everything
I must do something
