“HOLD ON”
What do you do when all is lost and
You have been called to carry your cross?
When your hopes and dreams have faded away and
Darkness reigns in the middle of the day.
How do you live in the sweltering heat
No water to drink and no food to eat?
When all that you have is the clothes on your back and
What you can carry in a small plastic sack.
You have lost all your cars and your homes and your stuff.
When it comes to sorrow, you’ve had more than enough.
Your children are crying and now so are you.
You have no idea what you are going to do.
The light of your future has faded away.
How will you make it the rest of the day?
My friend there is someone that has been there before.
He lost his palace and gained a dirt floor.
All of his stuff was taken away
Including his clothes one fateful day.
He carried his cross in the sweltering heat.
He let them pierce his hands and his feet.
He was thirsty like you so he asked for a drink.
He pushed on his feet so his back wouldn’t kink.
He knows exactly what you’ve been going through.
He gave his life for me and for you.
If you listen real close you can hear him say,
“Hold on my child I’m on the way”.
