TITLE: Barefoot in the Snow By Callie Martin 08/22/06 |
|
Stepping barefoot into the snow, wearing only his pajamas, he says "now where am I going again?" No one answers so he keeps moving. He rounds the house and pauses at Ellie's rose bushes. "Why aren't they beautiful like always? Where is she anyway"? He shuffles into the backyard and sits beside the grape arbor. "I'll wait here for Ellie. I'm sure she'll be home soon." It's quiet here with only the sounds of the night. He sits until he dozes off and then he joins Ellie in a rose garden where summer never ends and love will live forever.
