My body feels tired and worn in bed where I lay.
My alarm has been ringing for the third time today.
I need to get up but my bed beckons me to stay.
The shower feels good as its warmth starts to waken me.
As I become more alert tiredness takes defeat.
My oatmeal tastes nice mixed with its golden sugar sweet.
I glance at the time knowing the cold wind I must meet.
The snow hits me in the face as I walk to my car.
I didn’t realize that I had parked away so far.
Before I knew it, I fell backward looking at stars.
I felt angry as I wonder if my wound will scar.
Driving on the sheet of ice doesn’t bring much delight.
Every time my car slips my heart just pounds in fright.
I make it to work when my eyes meet an unkind sight.
“We are closed due to weather” angers me for a fight.
