By,
L.G. Sullivan-Wynn
(Dedicated to my “Uncle” Thomas F. Ingram)
Mom always says, “God [HE] don’t make no mistakes.”
In my spirit, I know this to be true; but, Oh, how my heart it aches-
Terribly so, at the mere thought of your pending voyage;
Soon, you’ll be leaving us- sailing on, into eternity!
Yes, I know you must go for I see the winds-most assuredly;
They have begun to RISE, becoming- fairly strong. It’s okay,
you better go... hurry on along.
Be sure to keep looking forward or, it will be too sad-even
for you!
No need to look back, you’ve done all that you could do.
It is now, up to each and everyone of us; to finish our
Own individual course- hopefully, we’ll catch on up with
you!
When you get out there don’t be afraid- look directly, into
the eye of the storm and you will see;
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior patiently waiting;
Beckoning, for you to come out further into the deep.
Step on out of the boat and take a hold to his nail-scarred
hand.
Let him lead you onto those peaceful heavenly shores; where
you’re certain not to ever suffer anymore-
No more sins and griefs to bear. So long, for now- go in peace;
We’ll see you when we get there!
