I hope you understand what I mean. You help me word it.
I know You're trying to reach me Lord
I feel your presence everyday
For every step you take towards me
I take three steps the other way
I don't know why I keep running
Especially when I look back on my past
Drugs, sex and Rock-N-Roll
Living loose, wild and fast
I thought these things made me happy
As cool as I could be
I still continue to do these things
Irony is now
I hate the idea of being me
I did not want my life to end
Saying the words I Wish
Guess I will anyway
For Your works I didn't accomplish
The legacy I wanted to leave
It's pathetic and unachievable
Knowing at the end there would be
No reward receivable
When I die will I have reached my goal
No I don't think so
Even if I had
There's no way I'd ever know
Now that I am growing old
I want to go back a few years
That way when I reach this age
I will have shed alot less tears
I know You're trying to help me
Now and from here on out
If I follow you I know my soul
Is going to Heaven without a doubt
I know if You keep walking towards me
I need to quit walking away
Then I can spend Eternity with You
Even better
Eternity and a day
