THE VISION
Before my eyes I saw a way, a road climbing upward. Along this path called Pilgrim’s Progress or journey to High Places, I saw the children of God climbing. Some were stumbling and some were prostrated or resting along the way. Maybe there was Much Afraid and her companions Suffering and Sorrow, I did seem to recognize them. I definitely saw Christian hiking valiantly along. As my eyes took in the scene, I noted some people seemed to be picking up others, some were arm in arm and there were even ones who appeared to be crawling…but always upward. The road was littered with obstacles and potholes, certainly not an easy way to travel!
My vision broadened and brightened and singing came across my mind. I heard and saw a great army standing strong and marching sharply. They were clothed in armor and as they marched I heard the words, “We’re marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion. We’re marching onward to Zion, the beautiful city of God.”
Still yet the vision broadened and I saw cheering crowds of people rooting them onward. I even thought I recognized one or two people with bright smiles on their faces applauding joyously.
And one more time the vision broadened and grew brighter still. I saw a magnificent white horse and a heavenly rider. Behind Him was a host of God’s children dressed in white robes and they were traveling down that same road that had become a broadened highway. And there was no tears or pain on their faces; no looks of confusion or anger or frustration. They were focused on the One who rode before them, their countenance reflected only confidence and boldness. I heard the words, “WE WIN!”
