This was written for a friends son in law. He went to Iraq.
I am really far away O Lord
So far from what I call home
I left my children and my wife
Like me they feel alone
I do not understand all this or
The perilous place that I must go
"Do not worry have faith my child"
"Remember no matter where you are"
"I am there with you also"
I have to leave my children O Lord
They I will truly miss
Especially when it's bedtime and
I don't get their good night kiss
They will face confusing times and
More confusing as they grow
"Do not worry have faith my child"
"No matter what they have to face"
"I'll be with them to face it also"
I have to leave my lovely wife
With many burdens she must bear
To go to a place of unknown people
For my problems they do not care
Please give her strength and guidance and
Never let her spirits get low
"Do not worry have faith my child"
"Whatever burdens she must bear"
"Ill be with her to bear them also"
