TITLE: When My Eyes Fail Me By Roseanna Wilson 02/15/06 |
|
Sometimes the air is warm
With love
And we do not question a thing
When the roses are easy to smell
We laugh easily too
I wish your heart would still.
I want you to see Him
And I want to see Him too
Sometimes our lives look so bright
We cannot see anything else
But the peace
Sometimes our hearts are clouded
Over
With the dust of tucked away dreams
And dieing hopes
And our eyes,
Which worked so well before
Are useless in showing us
The God we so desperately
Want to see
Moths come in
And rust takes over
We feel helpless because
The things we want are not here
And the things we don’t want
Are everywhere
What happens when we can’t see?
When we have lost our ability
To perceive?
It feels like death
And it is the loss of hope
God, oh God,
If only I could see You,
Everything else would
Take its place in line and
Not bother me a second more
God, oh God,
Help me to see You
Oh God,
Help me to see You.
