a god fearing man
whom god chose to lead his people out of the land
you see Pharaoh held them as slaves
to build cities and make brick
from straw or hay
now the people cried out to the lord
and their cries were heard
so he sent moses to do his work
an obedient man to free them with his word
now pharaoh was hardened and did not believe
so god put power in the staff that moses carried with thee
to show the people the power god has, he plagued serpents hail, and louse, the sea turned to blood and hail did fall from the sky
and surely his people were to die
but god had mercy and released the plagues but
Pharaoh still hardened did not obey, so death came to the first born son of every man known and Pharaoh wept for one was his own,
so he let them flee from the bondage that he kept thee and to take their flocks, children, and old, to go serve god on the mountain that god chose
now as the people left the land pharaoh was
hardened and death was his plan
go seek my chariots for moses can not live
but what he didn't know it was gods will
now as the lord held them back
his mighty hand split the sea for all his people to go safely
now Pharaoh thought he was safe as well and ordered his people
to follow them into the dark swell
but once again gods mighty hand fell
and Pharaohs people were swallowed by the seas great swell
now gods people moved on; though the journey was hard
they doubted and disbelieved and knew their lives were marred
but every time they cried the lord heard them speak and showed them his love so mercifully
it took them forty years to reach gods place but moses listened and obeyed and as Aaron led them in the promised land moses returned to the mountain to the place he first saw
the lord his masters beautiful hand fall
