Guesswork Scientism (continued)
v) Unravelling the so-called fact claim phrase by phrase
When a deceiver approaches any one of us, he is not going to clothe his language in statements that will disclose his intentions, but in subtle phrases.
Examining three books published since 2000 here are key phrases that frequently occur and which expose the lies being foisted on the public who are ignorant of scientific deceptions.
One scientist announces, “We’re the fact people!” But listen now to the words of the so-called fact people.
“Tyrannosaurus, probably the best known dinosaur, might well have been a scavenger rather than a predator, could have been a fast runner despite its size. Close relatives of these might well have been warm blooded.”
Speaking of prokaryotes they claim, “They were probably the ancestors of the eukaryotes.”
Speaking of Ginko biloba they say, “Its unique, fan-shaped, bilobed leaves have been fossilized in Permian rocks (286-245 years ago) and it is possible that they appeared in the Carboniferous period (236-286 million years ago).”
When doubts of slow gradual changes became obvious because of the absence of trnasitional fossils, researches theorized that instead of continuous gradual change over time, the evolution of a species is marked by long periods of no or little change (stasis) interrupted occasionally by short periods of relatively rapid evolutionary change (punctuations).
This same statement is repeated elsewhere in other unmistable terms with regard to Age of Invertebrates “In the mid-1990s 3 scientists in Calfornia came up with an ingenious explanation for the arrival of so many diverse body plans in such a short time. They put forward the hypothesis that there appeared, at this time, cells that are held in reserve during larval development and which are later switched on to create the adult.”
It was also stated clearly that with other fossil finds there have been “much speculation. Science needs theories, but – with its shortage of facts.”
To sum up we must look for the following words or phrases: likely, unlikely, it is possible, could/might have been, may be, it is suggested, believed to be, theorize, estimated, it is assumed and any other phrases that suggest uncertainty.
Here are just a few examples of the phony facts presented to a believing public, but the perpetrators of whose nerves may have caused them some emotional or mental instability.
William Dawson’s record of finding the remains of the world’s most ancient reptile in 1842 lasted for 140 years. Then in 1989 a Scottish fossil collector extracted a fossil reptile from the early Carboniferous rocks of Scotland and pushed back the date of the origin of amphibians (350 million years ago).
Until 1990’s palaeontologists were certain that the earliest bird was Archaeopteryx lithographica. In 1994 farmers uncovered hundreds of fossils of early birds. One could be older than Archaeopteryx. In 1996 another fossil bird, Protoarchaeopteryx was found in the same area, which threw doubt on Archaeopteryx being the ancestor of modern birds. These could predate it by 30 million years.
Spontaneous generation was accepted until the end of the 19th century. This was widespread among educated people. The hypothesis that living things come only from other living things (biogenesis) took 300 years for it to be accepted.
With regard to a fossil named Proconsul, in 1927, H.L. Gordon, a settler in western Kenya found unusual fossils. However, after analysis it was not an ancestor of modern chimpanzees as Hopwood thought. Instead it might be a generalized ancestor of all the larger anthropod apes and humans.
In 1924 before Raymond Dart found the fossilized skull of a child, Asia, not Africa was considered the cradle of mankind. He discovered a fossil that he later claimed to be the ‘missing link’ between apes and humans and therefore the direct ancestor to ourselves. However, the anthropological experts of the 1920 dismissed his claim. Still at a later date, scientists claim that in 1938 Robert Broom proved the experts wrong.
And now listen to this folly! One scientist writes, “Intelligent Design advocates have yet to devise an experiment to show that an intelligent designer does or does not exist.
Another writes, “The human brain evolved to increase the probability that the genes of the body it inhabits make their way into subsequent generations. It did not evolve to comprehend vast expanses of time, such as the unimaginable tens or hundreds of millions of years over which biological systems evolved.”
Still another writes, “Any entity capable of designing a living creature, to say nothing of a universe, would have to be hugely complex in its own right.”
We can conclude safely that the majority of today’s so-called wise men are really not so wise after all. For if an entity capable of designing a living creature, to say nothing of a universe, that entity would far exceed man’s ability to comprehend or even imagine it.
Scientists and any one arrogant enough to assume that men know everything because of centuries of past discoveries and inventions that have brought us into the present age with increasing degrees of comfort are strangely deluded. Do not be deceived!
The psalmist David sums it up accurately for us, “Who in the heavens can be compared to the Lord? Who among the sons of the mighty can be likened to the Lord?”
God through the prophet, Isaiah, asks,“To whom will you liken Me, and make Me equal and compare Me, that we should be alike?
