I sit in this vacuum space
Beating a dead dream.
All of this gives me a jolt
Causing my mind to scream.
I run through life not looking
Running here and there.
Lost in all this emptiness
Stand here unaware.
If I repeat this action
Off the Earth I’ll fall.
Never to be remembered
A name You can’t recall.
I can’t say how great I was
Or what I might have been.
I know I have done my best
I say that with a grin.
You have helped me find my way
Woke me up so I could see.
You lent a hand so I could stand
And done it tenderly.
Thank you for all You do
You helped me clear the air.
When I was standing at the brink
You showed me that You cared.
When I think about You
My heart is filled with love.
You gave me good direction
And that gentle shove.
Now my head is aching
From all the thoughts I’ve had.
If I do not write them down
They’ll slowly drive me mad.
If I were given any life
I could have for eternity.
I wouldn’t have to look too far
I’d finally pick just me.
