Today’s Scripture

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33

Matthew was a wonderful man. He never met a person he didn’t like. He would go out of his way for you. But, he was of this world; swept away by material pleasures such as drugs and alcohol. Some might say they couldn’t blame him for being lost in this world; a world of temptation and sadness.

Through Matt’s death, I have learned how to live. I must live in this world, but not be of this world. I shall be restored to grace if I but ask humbly. For grace is defined as a state of being that can be permanent, in that it consists only in a passing influence of God on the soul. I shall overcome this world through prayer and grace. Praise His name.

Prayer

Dear Lord, help me to surrender my life and my will unto You. For this I pray, in Jesus name. Amen.
