BE STILL
WRITTEN BY SHANN HALL-LOCHMANNVANBENNEKOM
Jesus whispered in the still of the night.
I could feel Him quite near.
“Don’t be afraid. Be still and listen
To a message whispered in your ear.
“I know you are frightened.
You certainly aren’t the first
To hunger for love and
Need someone to quench your thirst.
“So many are rooting for you
Both in Heaven and on Earth.
They want to see you smile,
And have your face full of mirth.
“I love you, My lamb,”
Said the Shepherd so great.
“You too can be happy.
It’s never too late.
“Trust in yourself.
Have faith in above;
Look around at the faces
Watching you with love.
“For whatever happened to you
So long ago, was not right.
But it’s time to forgive;
Be still and no longer fight.
“You think anger and fear
Are very dangerous emotions.
But it’s when you overreact
That causes all the commotion.
“Learn to be still.
Allow God to be in charge.
Giving up control, for you
Has always been large.
“Let Me rock you in My arms
And sing you a lullaby.
Sometimes you need permission
To let loose and cry.”
“Control is not everything,
Unless you give it to the Lord.
Let your burdens go and
Be pierced by My mighty sword.
“Together, we can end the fights.
It’ll be an answer to many a prayer
Go and tell the world that Jesus loves them
And that every person is in My care.”
