“Behold” is what I read,
Taking in what it had said
“I am making all things new”
“Write, these words are faith full and true”
This concept wasn’t new to me,
I’ve used and heard words frequently
That caused the muse to enter in
And helped this writer to begin.
I wished to sing a song to thee
To praise your love profoundly
Relate it to the subject here
A story of a brand New Year.
But nothing came into my mind
No rhyming words could there I find
I had no thoughts about this season
Maybe that’s the logical reason?
Confusion, worry, filled my thoughts
Competition, should’s and not’s
“Hey” This wasn’t any longer fun
I prayed to God, “What must be done?”
You must not write for fame alone,
But tell within this New Year poem
The who, the what and even how
You came to this place, you are now.
So then I thought, soon after wrote
The words I read in scripture quote
And listened to the words that say,
“Creating you a brand new day”.
And so this poem now I write,
It isn’t wrong or is it right.
About a New Year as I see
And all that God has given me.
