Clings to my heart and lingers near?
What if a sudden weight of dread
Falls with hot weight upon my head?
Slowly I step and onward go,
Accepting too quickly this weight of woe
No! Lift up your head, God is your guard
Your shield of strength and your great reward
Fear not; look not with anxiety round you
Can you not trust that God is for you?
What if you knew all that's in store
God, glory; suffering and pain no more.
Despair not! Cringe not! Lift your head!
At dawn you will be home, safely led.
