Memories of Mother keep running through my mind—
How as a child I used to laugh and cry.
Mother always kissed my pain away.
Those sweet memories keep tugging at my heart—
How she would hold me tight, sometimes through the night,
Praying to the Lord above,
Whispering softly in my ear as she wiped away my tears,
“Son, it’s going to be all right.
In God’s time everything will turn out right.”
Thank you, Mom, for precious memories.
Now you’ve gone home and I feel so alone,
But I hold you close within my heart
As those precious memories keep running through my mind.
Thank You, Lord, for days gone by—
The days I heard my mother pray,
Those times we sang “Amazing Grace.”
Thank You, Jesus, for precious memories of Mother.
