Match point.
Friday.
New Year's Eve.
Dear John letters.
A setting sun.
Landmarks of time. Something is over. Time is up:
Sleep,
a course, a grade, a position,
a round, an inning, the game, the match,
the week, the year,
the relationship.
When we celebrate and assess,
How well we learned, played, fought, worked, lived, and loved.
We get a lot of practice with end times during the dash between the two dates of our lives.
Time when the verbs of our life
Determine the adverbs
How well did we spend our time?
"Lord, teach us to number our days so that we can present to you a heart of wisdom." (Psalms 90:12)
