Christians often experience problems that challenge their faith. These dilemmas force them to examine their faith. Although they want to follow Christian principles, they may ask questions of God. Is it wrong to question God?
Being a Christian presents many issues. Christians are often tried in the trials of life and are placed in situations that force examinations. A man loses his job, and there is no food in the house and no money. What should the man do? Should he steal? Like many, I searched for a job but no one hired me. Some considered me a senior citizen; although I had not reached retirement age. Age aside, my family needed the money. Needs do not change when we reach a certain age.
When presented with questions from those who seek answers, some respondents give pat answers because they have never been tried in the fires of life. They know nothing about pain and suffering.
I tire of those who give out pat and ready solutions for each problem that arises but provide no assistance. When attempting to provide comfort they often quote scriptures. It’s as though quoting scriptures is all the solace they can provide. Maybe they are hiding behind those scriptures.
We desire to hear from someone who knows and understands what we are going through because he has been there. Walk a mile in my shoes before you tell me you understand what I am going through. I empathize with those men and women whose sons and/or daughters are fighting in Iraq because my son fought in IRAQ. Although I continue to suffer with them, my son is no longer fighting in IRAQ. His head is not shattered and his body is not broken.
Please don't try to tell me you understand my hunger if you have never been hungry. Please don’t tell me you understand if you’ve always had food to eat and clothes to wear upon your back. No, you don't understand. You may think that you understand but you don't understand. Although I've read about the pains of childbirth, I cannot describe the experience because I have not given birth to a child. We can make assumptions but we cannot share our experience with others if we have nothing to share. Maybe it’s time to be honest. Walk a mile in my shoes and then you might understand my predicament
