REAL POETRY COMES FROM THE HEART
It is one thing to critique
It is another to be just plain rude.
If one’s style does not agree with yours,
Doesn’t warrant an attitude.
There is just one God, but many churches
To administer to each one’s needs.
When we gather with Him on Judgement Day,
We’ll be judged by our hearts .. not our deeds.
He didn’t make us to all sound alike,
If you’ll remember the Tower of Babel.
But love is a language we all understand,
And we show it in ways we are able.
When someone is speaking straight from the heart
It doesn’t matter if the words are in rhyme.
Jesus spoke beautiful poetry,
Free verse done in His way and time.
So to anyone who thinks there is only one way,
And to rhyme makes the only good poem.
Look outside self and open your mind.
Who knows …. you just might enjoy’em.

I did not write this to be antagonistic or rude myself. No one has ever been disrespectful of my work, and I am truly grateful, and open, to any, and all, constructive critiscism. I'm just hoping that it will open some eyes and minds to the idea that whatever style of poetry an individual writes, it is a gift from the Holy Spirit living inside each of us.
Not everyone is going to be receptive to each style, but never be harsh or unkind in voicing your thoughts and remarks. God is Love .. and we should be a reflection of Him. Thank you!

I LOVE this, lady! Reminds me of one I wrote entitled "To My Senior English Teacher"...I also, want feedback and help and insights. Have been reading books on poetry "how to" the one I love best said there is no formula. Thanks for writing this! GRIN
Yes, i think if we're writing about our Lord and uplifting His Holy name , it is all good.
