The Coin
God’s revelation of Himself to us is like the two sides of a coin. The obverse side says “The Bible”. It’s the side that comes to mind first. The coin shows the date it was minted as “Eternity”. In the center of the coin is a portrait of God, but it’s so bright you can’t make it out. It’s a beautiful coin, but that’s only one side. The reverse side is a panoramic view of stars in the sky, a mountainside covered with butterflies and flowers, and a child at play. To the left is an image of a DNA double helix and a mathematics equation. To the right are a bowl of fruit, a history book, and a violin. All this fits on one coin. Kind of miraculous, isn’t it? The coin has two sides which always travel together. There’s one other thing about this special coin which distinguishes it from ordinary coins: you can see both sides at once.
