Have a Question!

Listen! I have a question. It troubles me each time the questions comes up in my mind, but who will answer me? Please I have a question.

And I really want to believe that my questions are directed to and can only be answer by ministers of the gospel. I.e. the Pastor, teachers, apostle and the bishops who are involve in the work of the ministry.

Definitions:

• Ministry: is where a call is been fulfilled.
• Call: a divine knowing or understanding of divine revelation.
• Business (in faith context): the formation of an organization by one or more people for the purpose of winning souls for the kingdom.
• Minister: anybody who is involved in the kingdom work. Propagating the good news.

According to the scripture: 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verses 18-19- ‘Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of Reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.’

Amen! From the above two verses of the scripture, you will discover that we are all sinners (Read from verse 11 of the same chapter) who has been reconciled through Jesus Christ to God the Father. Having been reconciled, He gave us a ministry of the word and reconciliation whereby the world through the preaching of the word to Christ Jesus are been reconciled to God. That its, in whatever means you go about your ministry of the word (singing, dancing, preaching) the end aim is to reconcile the world through such means to Christ Jesus.

In a simple word, we are all given to the ministry of soul-winning.

The emphasis was laid in Mathew chapter 28 verse 19 which says ‘…go ye therefore…’

My questions therefore are:

• How do we define ministry?
• What are we turning ministry into?
• Are ministers business oriented or ministers that goes about the business of the father (soul-winning)?

For crying out loud! How do we define and go about the ministry that was delivered unto us from the Lord.

And say unto Archippus, “take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord that you may fulfill it.’ Colossians 4:17

‘Taking heed’ to ministry in the above scriptural verse implies that one be careful, steadfast to follow the ways, pattern and the standard to which you have received your ministry from the Lord. The most important thing about ministry is in its fulfillment and a ministry can only be fulfilled in the measure and standard of the giver or the caller not to our own human standard.

Hear me! The judgment of the Lord will start from the church. From the so called ‘Men of God’, please I have a question.

People has define ministry in their own way. Men of God have set-up God given ministry in their own understanding. What are we turning ministry into? Many ministries and churches today are nothing but business oriented, accumulating wealth for themselves in the name of preaching the gospel. It pains me! Please I have a question. Every resource you’ve received from the gospel is towards what?

Listen! I am a minister of the gospel too, so I have the understanding of what am saying and talking about.

Issues

• Many Nigeria Ministries (churches) today are going about the business of building Universities in the name of God (as a means of outreach). Tell me, how many of them receive it as a divine instruction to build such a University.
• In fact, In Nigeria today, churches are competing on the structure of their churches and international standard.

Hmm, please I have a question.

The universities are so expensive that I wonder how many of us can afford it but for the rich. It will amaze you to know that most of these Universities are built by the donation and pledges from the poor members who can not afford sending their children into such a school. When something is a means of outreach it should be available to all.

Every resources received from the work of the gospel should be towards the kingdom, isn’t it? Men of God, remember your calling. Remember who you are called to be.

It baffles me when I see the way ministers of God are going about their calling to suit worldly and personal standard. The scripture says ‘the way that seems right to a men, the end is destruction.’ The way seems right, but not right. You might not know it if you don’t stop and check yourself.

• I believe in miracles. It happens, its real, am a testimony and a demonstrator of it. And I believe and I know that Jesus is the miracle working God.

People (Men of God) believe that miracle is the major means of attracting people to church. What an error! To that wrong (Ignorance) understanding of theirs, they formulate and use different method to perform miracles. You need to see. Ministers! How do you demonstrate God’s power in your ministry?

• Hmm, I have a question! I discovered that most ministries especially Nigerians (Nigeria I know) loves titles and international reputation (fame). You will hear title such as ‘Most Senior Rev…., Apostle, Prophet…, Senior Apostle… ’ The truth is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with titles but I discover that it has enter into their understanding. Most ‘Dr’ titles those even have a doctorate degree but honorary titles.

Are we called into an office or into an office title? Remember we function in the office of a Pastor, Apostle not in title. I might be carrying a tile of ‘Dr’, why? That is because I have a doctorate degree in a field of study. Ministers watch out.

Nigerian ministers love international fames and reputations. Most at times, they will leave their home country, church and travel abroad in the name of the gospel but for international fame (Tell them, I have a question). Some will even move the headquarters abroad. The truth is that, nothing is wrong with all of these but the truth is that I have a question on how we going about it. Now my question is ‘Are you divinely located there for ministerial fulfillment?

• Listen! Many Nigerian ministers of God can use powerful and exotic cars. My question are:

 Why do you spend so much on cars (worldly materials) when the equivalent amount can be used for rural soul winning. How much do you put it for rural evangelism?
 Why do you spent so much on materials things? When every gospel resources should be towards the kingdom.

Please I have a question.

Do you know that many ministers enjoy in the expense of their church member.

• In what standard and measure are you running your ministry? I discovered that churches and ministries today are not given to rural evangelism (rural outreach). All they are involved in is church evangelism (city evangelism in the four walls of a church). If we are considering church evangelism, then who will go to the villages? Remember it is the duty of the church to send able hand to these places.

Good, but who will go to the rural areas if we will enjoy city (urban) evangelism? Please I have a question: how do we mange kingdom resources? You might not know it, judgment will come up, you know.

• Is calling based on University degree? What does University degree has to do with effective discharge of God’s word in the teaching and preaching? God qualifies the unqualified and same He equip. in fact, God calls the unqualified.

So is not about the University degree but the anointing that comes with the calling. In Nigeria, I had a ministers of God disengage their pastors from the work and service of God due to the fact that they do not have University degree. They said (church involved) they need at least University degree in order to discharge and disseminate the word of God effectively. What an error?

Why? Please I have a question.

Some pay their ministers based on their qualification they hold. Wonder will never end. Remember, is about He who called, who equipped and set forth and not the degree. In fact, I hold a masters degree and professional degrees but it shouldn’t be hold on to as necessity to ministry.

• Are we not baptized into one faith, body and Christ? Please I have a question.

Churches and ministers baffle me the way they go about their doctrine (or is it dogma). In some denomination, a brother is not allowed to marry from other denomination. For instance: if Brother ‘A’ attends ABC Church, he is not allowed by the standing of the church to marry from a Sister from CB Church and vice-versa.

Please I have a question!

We are all Christian by the virtue of Christ in us, so why such a rule. Even if the Brother ‘A’ or Sister ‘B’ marries from another denomination, they will see them as a cast away. They might even not attend the marriage ceremony.

Please I sincerely I have a question, because of the burden that have to do with my calling. My mandate therefore, is to teach the light of God’s word and bringing dynamism to the work of God.
