Are we ready for the Harvest?
By
Gwendolyn Ransom
As the world become in peril, the church has the most important task of all. The harvesting of souls. My question is: Is she ready? There will become a revival so great that the gates of hell cannot stop it. But along with every revival, there has to be a war, and persecution among the saints.
We are living in hard economic times. These times not only affects the believers, but those who are struggling. Many are searching for solutions, and they realize the answers aren't with the election or with the government. The only answer comes from Jesus Christ. He is looking to prepare his people to deal with the hard times. As a matter of fact, he has already made provisions for his people.
The problem is, the people he sends to his church will be broken and battered. They will need not only a supernatural word, but they will need nourishment and hope. And what they will have on the inside will assist us in preparing for battle. They will have a greater love for Jesus, because they will have lost so much, and they will realize he gave them life and purpose back. They will stand on behalf of Jesus. God is saying, it is time for the church to get ready and prepare the laborers.
True laborer help find a solution to the problem. When the early church was formed, everyone gave of their own possessions to make sure every need was met on the daily basis. The time has come to start praying for the harvest, and for God to meet needs in our lives, and those who he is sending our way. Pray for the people to receive them with open arms and the love of Christ which surpasses all understanding. People who God will send will not always have something to give, but love. We have to prepare others to accept the love of Jesus so they can grow by it.
Many times, we choose whom we think should be saved, but Jesus never did. His assignment was always to that person who everyone looked down upon. Think about the woman caught in adultery, and Jesus forgave her with kind words, but they were words of deliverance. The woman at the well, ran through the city preaching and witnessing, if someone would have seen these women on the streets, they would have been ridiculed but Jesus looked upon the heart. He is our example for reaching the harvest!
If we start prayers for the needs of the people as if we were praying for our own needs, we can experience a great move of the Holy Spirit!
