Prayers

Father of all places everywhere,
I rejoice in the knowledge
that You are The Director of my life.
When the road in front of me
seems tangled and rough,
I delight in the fact
that You know ALL roads.

My heart is gladdened
that even in the midst
of uncertainty and anxious heed,
You have not forgotten me,
nor ceased to remember who I am.
You walk the way before me –
judging what is best for me
and allowing the delays
that would benefit my growth
for the work You give me to do.

Whatever my position on society’s scale -
however humble my sphere of action,
I know
that my quiet energies
and my persistent patience
are not wasted,
when I am
“about my Father’s business”.

While I may never comprehend
this road on which You have set my feet,
I thank you, Father,
for the “quiet growth of You in me”
that is taking place Here. . .
