Redeemed at Last
Over the mountains and across the seas,
Jesus taught many and made the blind to see.
From Jerusalem, all the way to Galilee,
Sinners came and He set them free.
Many mocked Him and called Him names,
But onward He pressed as He healed the lame.
They spat at Him and cursed and hissed,
“What manner of man is this?”
“Who calls Himself King and Lord of all?
Who speaks with authority and makes demons squall?
He even raised Lazarus from the dead!
And a little girl too who laid in her bed!”
“You call yourself Jesus, King of the Jews!
You blasphemed God, let us crucify you!”
Do what you wish was His imply.
It is My Father’s will that I die not I.
They laughed and scoffed and beat Him to shame!
The pressed thorns into His head and down the blood came!
They lead Him to Golgotha and nailed Him to the cross!
He cried out, “Father, forgive them for they are lost!”
Two criminals were with Him, one on each side.
One was rude and filled with pride.
The other was compassionate and full of hope.
“Lord, remember me in Your Kingdom,” he spoke.
“Today you will be,” Jesus replied.
“With Me in Paradise by My side.
For I have come to pay the price.
I would do it again, but they can’t kill Me twice.”
He cried to His Father and yielded His Spirit,
Then He breathed His last.
‘Till that day that He rose from the tomb which He laid,
And redeemed us all at last!
