There is a greatness of the Lord that has to be revealed to today's Church. The greatness is that the Church has to mature. She needs to grow into Christ and be made like Him. Without maturity, there is no blessing, no revelation, no growth and no going. The Church will always be an infant. But as She matures She will come into the blessings of God.

A Church that is mature knows its responsibility to Christ. It knows that it must serve. It knows that it must proclaim Jesus. He is the Head of the Church and as such the Church must build Herself up into the Head. The Church needs a vision of who Christ is. She needs to be ushered into maturity and this comes through teaching. The Church must thirst and hunger to know Christ just as a bride thirsts and longs to know her husband. The bride of the Lamb must become perfect. Church, you are the offspring of God and you need to start being like Him. You need to realise that God desires of you to grow. The 12 disciples were called out and taught and equipped for service, so too must all of you. Jesus is the Lord.

Firstly, the Church must understand that the prophecies and promises of old apply to the generation of today. Secondly, unless the Church grows, She remains an infant or child. Scripture tells us that children cannot inherit parental heritage until an appointed time. Someone else will hold your heritage in stewardship if there is no evident maturity. Thirdly, Paul teaches an amazing truth: "When I was a child, I spoke and acted as a child. But now I am a man. I act and do as a man" 1 Corinthians 13v9-12. We partially know and prophecy. But when perfection/maturity/completeness comes, the imperfect will disappear.

When, as a Church, we move from childish ways we will grow and become mature, feeding on solid food. We still see partial reflections, but one day we will see the fuller picture. We will know fully, meaning, we must move on to another level, rhema and glory. In Revelations 19v7 we are told that "the Bride has made herself ready." The same has to be true of the Bride that Jesus went to Calvary to redeem.

The Church needs to be mature so as to get to a point of being married to Christ. She needs to be committed to Her Husband for the relationship to get to this stage. It will take a grown up Church to commit herself to the Groom. And for this to be true there is need for focus. The writer to the Hebrews encourages the saints to keep their eyes focused on Jesus the Author and Finisher of faith. When there is focus it is easy for the Bride to grow into full maturity. May the Lord help the bride to get ready for the Wedding Supper of the Lamb is at hand.
