"Listen to the Sound Of the Rain"
Beloved Shoshanna
May 3 2005 12:00AM
Last night after writing out a message, I heard clearly, "Listen to the Sound of The Rain." I kept hearing it in my Spirit, and this morning as I sat before the Lord, I heard it again, and I turned to 1Kings and read in,
1 Kings 18:41
And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
The kings of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord after the reign of David, they sacrificed to idols and made altars to their gods.
Elijah the Tishbite the prophet, prophesied that there would be no dew nor rain, except at his word. Elijah was prophesying drought and famine upon the land for their evil doings.
We see that today as evil continues the land and the people become dry as great darkness comes upon the land, and YHWH brings about a famine and a drought upon the land in judgment.
It is clearly seen in the life of Elijah that YHWH shows His miraculous provision to the righteous, those who fear His name. As we see in chapter 17 of 1 kings that YHWH provided by the brook Cherith as He provided water and sent the ravens to feed him. In Zarephath the Lord commanded a widow woman to provide for him, He took just a handful of flour that she had, and a very small amount of oil in a jar and He multiplied it and she made him a cake to eat, and the oil and flour never ran out, it was made a continuous supply. 1 Kings 17:14-16
For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth. [15] And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. [16] And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.
And when her son died, Elijah prayed to the Lord and stretched out his body upon the body of the child and the Lord heard his prayer, and as he stretched out his body a third time, the child was revived.
And after Jezebel killed the prophets of God, Elijah sent for 450 of the prophets of Baal that ate at Jezebels table and said: 1 Kings 18:21-24
And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. [22] Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. [23] Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: [24] And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
YHWH did what none of them could do, he caused fire to light the sacrifice on wet wood, and when the people saw it, they knew he was YHWH and they cried out, the Lord is YHWH the Lord is YHWH.
And Elijah had all the prophets of Baal executed.
Elijah bowed himself before the Lord on Mt. Carmel when he heard the sound of the abundance of rain. Seven times he sent his servant to go and look for the clouds and on the seventh time his servant saw a cloud the side of a fist. the sky became black with clouds and the wind began to blow and then there cam a heavy rain.
Beloved,
The enemy of your soul does not want you to listen to the prophets who are speaking of revival in the land, they do not want My people to hope in Me.
You say look there is no sign of rain, no sign of revival, but I say look again. Keep your eyes on Me, though everything looks dark and dismal to you, keep looking again and again, can you not see that little cloud rising. Listen cannot you hear the sound of abundance of rain?
I bring the rain in the midst of the darkness, yes, there is a storm arising, yes a great darkness shall cover the land and evil men shall prevail for a season, but shall I not care for the righteous, shall I not provide miraculously? I change not, I shall do what I have always done to show Myself strong for those who fear Me.
Keep your eyes fixed on heaven, and listen to the sound of abundance of rain. I WILL rain righteousness upon the earth, keep your eyes fixed for that little cloud of hope for it is a sign to you that is is begining to rain.
Though you be few in number who stand, and stand for righteousness and have a fear of Me, and truly KNOW ME, you shall overcome as you endure to the end. 1 Kings 19:18
Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
These beloved are My remnant, that do not turn away from me, that KNOW Me and My voice and that do no evil in My sight.
Though Jezebel wants to destroy you, have no fear, for my judgments are swift upon her and she shall not stand.
Beloved, do not lose hope, though you see darkness all around and winds that are changing the fabric of life, look up for out of it comes an abundance of rain.
Joel 2:2
Joel 2:21-32
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things. [22] Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. [23] Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. [24] And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. [25] And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. [26] And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. [27] And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
[28] And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: [29] And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. [30] And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. [31] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come. [32] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call
