Communication
Wow! Reading the different blogs and articles written by people and groups I had networked with, walking through grocery stores, talking to people in the community, and seeing western slanted news--I found myself seemingly out of touch. While living in Kenya, we had periods were we had no internet linkup for days and sometimes weeks at a time. Some areas, of course, have nothing! It reminds me of our need to stay in touch with friends and family, but mostly the Word of God. Communication is a gift. How well we develop it is our choice.
Without my trusty computer, no laptop, and the stories that just kept coming I wrote by hand volumes of notes and material. Even though I could text message around the world, limited only by funds, it still couldn't give the whole picture or information that I wanted to share. Emails work but again, limited by use and communication skills. A lot of the people I deal with are not comfortable using a computer. Some people are better communicators using visual means, others by verbalization.
Genesis 1:28 gives us the first mention of God speaking to mankind. It is the message of dominion. God spoke what mankind was to have dominion over. Without concise communication between mankind and God there would have been a case for argument when Adam fell to the temptation presented to him. But because there was concise, bold communication, with explicit instruction there was also no argument.
So as I now begin to network again, picking up pieces that I didn't think would be altered by a move to Africa I look forward to reaching out and being able to touch others through communication of writing, motivational speaking, teaching biblical principles.
I want to encourage everyone who is reading this posting to think of one area of communication in our life that needs a makeover, where you might be a bit out of touch with someone, or a situation that could be changed through better communication. Then do it. Take dominion over that area so there is no argument available to the enemy that comes to kill, rob, and destroy. We have the tools, now we need to use them so there is dominion and an in touch lifestyle.

Thanks for the reminder about keeping communication in syn with the people that we need to keep in touch. Indeed we have the communication tools to reach out to the world who don't know Jesus, and we must write with all that we possessed so that others can be touched. Glad that we can use our writings to impact the world.
