Holy Spirit, teach us today from your book of Exodus.



I am sooooo excited to be writing on the book of Exodus and will continue to do so after the Passover holiday, I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I do. Wishing all of you a blessed Passover season as you remember the freedom God gave His people in egypt!!!



"Then the Lord said, I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see if they will follow my instruction." Exodus 6:4



This verse says two things. First, God is saying that He will provide for His people, not just provide for them but RAIN down their supply. He is a God of abundance. The second thing He is saying is that He will test His people to see if they will follow His instruction, and only gather up enough manna for one day(and enough for 2 days on the sabbath). How did God test them in this manner? The same God who makes things fresh caused the excess manna to go rotten, lol. Those who gathered too much got a bunch of rotten manna, because they did not obey God!



Its easy for us to "gather up too much manna" in fear that we will not get enough to sustain us. The Lords prayer asks our Father in Heaven to "give us our daily bread". We need bread daily to live, and God knows that, He knows we need physical bread, and spiritual bread, from His word to sustain us. The God who created our very beings knows what we need. Who else but Gods knows what we need? He knows more than we know, and He knew more than the Israelites knew. He knew the exact rations they would need to keep them alive, and despite some doubt on their part, they recieved enough.



We can say the same things about our own lives. Has anyone reading this message even gone without? Has anyone NOT seen the hand og God in their greatest time of need? The answer is most likely "no". God did not leave or forsake His people in the desert and He will not leave or forsake His people now. He knows how much manna we need each day and provides it with His Mighty hand.



Its easy to want to "borrow time" and work on our own for our provision. Its only natural. But God is SUPERnatural, and His ways are higher and therefore better than our ways. I think God wants to give us some advice today-"LEAVE THE FUTURE TO ME, I'M THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS IT ANYWAY!" He is God of our tomorrows, and the one who provides grace for today.

The Israelites had a long and perilous jounrney through the desert into the promised land, but every moment of every day was filled and FULfilled by the promises of God, the one who lead them out of Egypt to be their God.

God is taking your hand today, and you may not know where He is leading you, but He knows the way, and He knows exactly what you need, each moment of each day of the journey. Go ahead, take His hand, don't be afraid, He is on your side!!!
