The Giant Killer

You are not hurt, I can plainly see
there are no bumps or bruises.
I know not by which path you came
God is the one who chooses.

I do know where you ended up
as I was there that day;
standing by your mother's side
and out of the doctor's way.

God knew you before we did
before on Earth you were alive.
I read this in Jeremiah's book,
look in chapter one, verse five.

Yes, my love, God blessed us,
you're part of His precious plan.
Your mother named you David
because we've always loved that man.

He was a giant killer,
not hindered by his size.
With just one stone in his slingshot
he hit that giant between the eyes.

My advice for you is this, sweet child,
that when you go before the throne,
ask the Lord to give you wisdom and strength
to kill those giants of your own.
