Holy Spirit, teach us from the book of Exodus today-Amen

Gods promises are always fulfilled. It was not easy for the Israelites to envision anything beyond the life they already knew, a life of bondage and slavery. Perhaps they had been slaves for so long that they no longer saw themselves worthy of the freedom God promised to give to them. How many of us feel that way? How many of us feel that the journey to the Promised land is too long, filled with too many roadblocks, famines, and trouble. Is this freedom God has promised to us worth pursuing?

Many Israelites didn't think so. In Exodus 5:20, the Israelites became angry with Moses and Aaron, saying that because of them stirring things up with the Pharoah, they had put them in danger. The israelites had two choices-to be slaves forever, or trust God, risking their lives to walk(run!) to freedom. They chose the former because it seemed safer, but Praise God He used Aaron and Moses to basically drag them to freedom!

The Israelites complained, feared and worried. Yet in the midst of it all they saw miracle after miracle occur by the hand of the Mighty God! The saw the sea part, the Pharoah drown, manna rain down, clouds by day, fire by night, victory over the Amalekites, as they raised the staff in Moses hand. They saw water pour from a rock, and God Himself deliver the Ten Commandments, via Moses, as rules to live by in this new promised land! Talk about proof! There is a seven day feast in honour of these amazing miracles, along with the unbreakable covenant set forth during this period of history. When God says He will bless you, He will BLESS you!!! He is a God who BACKS UP WHAT HE SAYS HE WILL DO! And usually it is much bigger, better, and bolder than we imagine.

With four hands and two mouths(of Moses and Aaron), God delivered to His people His promises, His rules, His heart, His ending to their long journey. The story of passover is a story of victory, freedom from oppression and freedom to worship God as they were intended. Yet so many(jew and gentile alike) are still slaves to the Pharoahs tyranny, only this "king of the world" is not the egyptian pharoah, but the enemy of our souls. God wants to invite you today to take His hand and walk in the promises He so longs to give you. And He calls you to pray for those in your life, the jews and gentiles, who do not know the promises of the Father and the love of the son, Yeshua, who set us all free from oppression, and sin, so we may know them forever!
