And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, because I bore him with sorrow.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, oh that thou would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

1Chronicles 4:9-10


Amen! I want us to note these:

· Jabez prayed.

· He cried to the God of Israel.

· He cried out enough is enough?

· He knew his predicaments.

The prayer of Jabez was done on me sometimes ago and I took my phone and send SMS to different people telling them about the power in the prayer of Jabez.

The story of Jabez was a very peculiar one, he was only mention or something was said about him only in 1Chronicles 4:9-10.

He was a very honorable person than his entire brother and his mother called his name Jabez meaning sorrow and the name sorrow was working against him. Many of us are destined for greatness but our names are working against us or by what we have been called.

But a time came in life of Jabez, he cried out to the God of Israel, he prayed saying enough is a enough:

· That you would bless me indeed,


Jabez open himself to the blessing of God, he wasn't specific, but he cried loud that thou would bless me indeed. When we open ourselves to the blessing of God He appropriate thing for us in His own time, making all things beautiful for us.


· And enlarge my coast.


When we open ourselves to the blessing of God there is no way our coast, territory will not going to the enlarged. The enlargement of our territory is not necessary in land wise. The enlargement of our coast will be towards the blessing of God upon our lives. The enlargement of your territory might be informed of ministerial connection, support. Name it


· And that thy hand might be with me

When God blesses us, He enlarges our territory, when our territory is enlarged, will need the divine help of God, grace and enablement to carry on. The hand of the Lord might come inform of provision, support, grace...
When God gave you a ministerial blessing and He enlarge our territory by strong network of ministry and branches across the nations, then you need the hand of the Lord (in form of grace, enablement and wisdom) in order to run the ministry.


· And that you would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me

When God blesses you, He enlarges your territory and abides with you. When all these happen, he prayed Lord keep me from evil that it may not grieve me. The truth is that temptation will come; we can not pray not to be tempted, if Jesus was tempted, but we can pray that God should keep us from temptation through His son Jesus.

It is important at this stage to pray from been tested.


The Bible says 'And Lord grants and answers his request.

What are going through in life?

What name are you called?

You can be blessed with enlarged territory, God abiding with you, if only

You can pray

Cried out to the God of Israel saying enough is a enough. If you want your story to change, you too can pray the prayer of Jabez and in weeks, month your story will change.

Your testimony will change. I beseech you by the mercy of God, let these prayer lines be part of your life, you can sing it, tongue it, walk it and in months your story will change.
