ONE WOMAN'S GREATEST WISH
By: Martha Currington
Why can't they realize that I need help! I'm always exhausted from so much to do. The household chores are never done. Everyday it begins again. I never know anymore how many will be here at mealtime. I work from dawn to dusk, by then my feet are tired and swollen. My legs ache 'til I can't sleep. So I just rest throughout the night and think about the things Jesus spoke of that day.
Everyone thinks that I don't care because I stay busy. Yet I love Jesus more than they'll ever know. He visits our home often when he's traveling through Bethany. A crowd is always following him. I know that he is God's promised Messiah for I have seen him heal the sick and cast out demons. And I listen quiet intently when he speaks of God's kingdom. While I'm doing my work I observe and hear him teaching the others. They don't know, but I get chances to talk with Jesus when the're not around. He knows that I care.
But everyone is always hungry, expecting food to be served on time. Someone has to accept the responsibility. I get upset because my sister won't do her part. She could listen to Jesus as we work. But no, she sits at his feet while he speaks and I'm left to finish the meal preparation. For once I would like to sit at Jesus' feet, without any distractions, to lovingly listen as he teaches. Let my sister and some of the others do the serving! For once, I would like to be served food that I didn't have to prepare!
How I wish that they all understood me!

Martha, good perspective on your namesake! Enjoyed this! ~ Violet
Now that was a different perspective! I wonder if your name-sake really felt like that at times? One small point: in your 2nd paragraph - it should read 'quite intently' not quiet intently. Keep up the good work.
