Encouragement
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of compassion and the God of comfort who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have recieved from God."
2Corinthians 1:3
Praise God that He is our Comforter, amen? Praise Him that in our affliction, He doesn't just care, He understands, He has been there, He knows pain, and His empathy is unfailing. Isaiah 53 calls Him a "man of sorrows", no stranger to pain and affliction.
So often, in my walk with God I have needed a comforter, and always found it in Him, I always found arms open wide, ready to embrace me in pure love, and understanding, and ready to bestow onto me the most complete healing. He is called our wounded healer. When it hurts, tell Him, and He will empathise with you, and allow you to fall into Him, and recieve rest, and be restored.
I have been afflicted often by anxiety, and I indeed know what it is like to complelty freak out from fear! Some of the children that I care for experience that same sort of anxiety(not many, and not often, but the ones that do, need comfort!!). It breaks my heart to see a baby cry like that, not just because I feel sorry for them but because I understand. Empathy is stronger than sympathy.
When we weep, God weeps with us, because He knows what it is like. He knows what it is like to be betrayed, He knows what it is like to be mocked. He knows what it is like to cry so hard that you can barely breathe. And He knows just what to say to make us feel better. We are His children, His sheep, His delight, and He loves nothing more than to minister to us, and heal us from within, no matter how deep the wound.
We do not go through trials for nothing. We go through them so we can see more of Gods goodness, and care, and also so He can use us to help others going through similiar problems. If someone I know was going through surgery for the first time, I would be happy to give them the 411 :) My first tip would be that if you cry a lot, the medical staff are really nice to you, lol. But I would foremost tell them that despite the fear associated with it, or any new and uncertain thing we face, our God, our Loving Heavenly Father is in the midst of it all, and He will never leave your side. He sends His angels to gaurd you, and He sends His Holy Spirit to reassure you. He sent His son to bear the pain that we would face, and His Fathers heart is always for us, wanting to see us healed, restored, and comforted, in every trial we face.
