In His presence, at His feet
longing to hear the master speak
Aware of the power, authority, the words of love
spoken by the one touched by the dove
Hang on each word, follow every thought
prepare the way before me, each lesson taught

Understanding the priority, the imperative
the important point of view
to listen while you can,
drink the new wine
from the true vine
while He was here with us

The same is true for those of us
who are in this time and place
for His lessons are written for all who look
if we but open up the pages of His book
for He is the Word, the one there at the start
and He will be with us always,
if we but hold Him in our heart.


The story of Mary and Martha, Luke 10:38-42, and the questions raised in 2nd/3rd grade Sunday School on 1/15/06 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Concord, NH.
The first stanza was written 1/15/06 23:02, the last two late afternoon 1/18/06.
