John 21:15-17
In this passage couldnt you just hear Simon Peter heart breaking. Peter loved Jesus with all his heart and everything that was in him. .Peter knew after walking with Jesus he couldnt go back to being a fisherman. His expericence with Jesus was to great and he was lost and wondering what was the purpose of it all. Just like Jesus he search Peter heart and ask Peter "Do you love me?" Yes repield Peter. Then Jesus gave Peter a purpose and call . Jesus told Peter to feed his sheep. Then Jesus ask Peter again the same question because Peter just couldnt wrap his mind around all that was going because he didnt want Jesus to leave him . Peter repleid just the same."Yes. I love you lord . Then Jesus gave the same call . Then a third time Jesus ask Peter "Do you love me." Peter heart became heavy and he was like what is Jesus seeing that I dont see inside of me. Peter realized that Jesus knew all things and what was in his heart hindering him from his call.Perhaps it was the guilt of deny Jesus.But Peter pushed passed what he was feeling his guilt his fear of what it would be like not to see Jesus physically everyday.As Jesus laid out Peter call in detail Peter knew Jesus forgave him and loved him. Peter knew then that he could trust that Jesus leaving him was a good thing.Peter faith kick in at this point Peter was probably think about how Jesus saved him that day when he had been fishing all day long and forfilled yet another promise that he would make Peter a fisher of men.Then Peter realized that he had everything inside to take the challenge and success because he loved Jesus . Sometimes we want to hold on to pass situation where we promised God we would and didnt.We sometimes want to hold onto what is safe . So we dont have to step out on our own. It maybe a mentor , a job or even what other think. Jesus forgave that all on the cross and made countless promises of how he'll never leave you or forsake you. Jesus needs you to forgive yourself today so you can feed his sheep. I encourage you today to hear his call and realize like Simon Peter that Jesus knows what he's doing all you went through was for a purpose and plan . He made you just for this assigment and equipp you through your failures and success to be a witness. So step out on Love for your father and watch how his love workout for your good.
