This is a really powerful poem. I can tell you've had experience trying to encourage someone, but that it was rejected. I am the type of person who often rejects or despises it. I also have a hard time giving it. I am glad you reminded me that when I point others to God, they can be encouraged by Him...Amen! .

Encourage,
One single word,
At times may mean so much,
And others the sound of silence,
It's the planted seed of faith that fills the need,
Of longing and loneliness,
You can;t define what
Or how, or when or why,
You just have to try,
Have to fight to see with eyes of compassion
And cry if you must,
As you see the hurting hearts,
That you have no power to change,
Or heal or help, beyond what you have already done

Your heart burns to mend their wound,
But it must be in their time, and with Another's hands
And sad as it is part of the healing,
Is in the hurting that they must find,
It doesn't feel kind,
That suffering and loss is such a part of change

It's the doorway through,
which we all must walk
The means unto our dreams,
Sometimes our friends have to find their own strength
And it is not for us to give,
But struggling in prayer, is the only way you can be there,
When they won�t let you in and won't let you near

Guarded as they are, guarded with their hearts,
But you never leave their side,
As they never leave your thoughts,
Because you care,
And give the best gift you have to give,
Of Prayer

Of Faith in them, never waning,
Your Belief in them ever saying,
"I know you will persevere,
You will overcome,
And come out stronger then ever before
God is with you, oh how I implore,
just Trust in Him, he will raise you up,
just Trust in him, don�t give up,
I am with you, and so is He
Surrender to him, and he will set you free,
we both love you for who you are"
