LIFTING UP OF THE HEART:
=============================
It is a truth that many people in all types of positions secretly wants to exalt themselves to sit on a throne where they can receive worship. That is, to have others telling them how wonderful they are and how anointed and gifted they are, etc. This was Hitler’s goal--to have the worship of people. ‘Hiel Hitler’ wasn’t a simple ’hello.’ The people’s salute and this declaration was actually giving him worship. He bought into Satan’s lie that he could be his own god and seat himself on the throne of his heart.

He could sit there on the throne of self and as he did, he openly expressed the evil pride that was in his heart. Like his father, satan, he wanted to rule the world. The New World Order was formulating even then and with each passing year, we get a little closer to this becoming a reality. You can read about it in the book of Revelation.

Not all of God’s leaders and minister’s fall into this catagory of wanting the worship of people. There are a vast number of men and women in ministry who have a true heart for God and for all people. Men and women of God who are sold out totally to Him. Even loving not their lives unto the death. But at the same time, there are a lot of ministers and leaders who do want to be worshiped. Most of the time people don’t realize this about themselves until the Holy Spirit reveals the truth. Until He reveals the secret desire for ‘self-exaltation’ in the heart. When we’re shown truth about ourselves, no matter how painful it may be, may we humble ourselves before God and repent from a sincere heart.

Sometimes in the church we see people do some flaky and obvious things to gain attention because of insecurities and wounded emotions. It’s unfortunate and ultimately they end up hurting a lot of people, including themselves. But there is that desire to be center-stage that makes a person want the worshipful attention of other people. For some people, they want it because of their knowledge, or their ministry office calling. Or their gifts, or their talents, and so on. And if you think this is an easy subject to preach on, I want to take a moment and assure you that it is not easy. It is, in fact a difficult message to bring forth. I’d rather talk about the blessings of God. But God’s blessings are big part of this message. We just have to get a few things straightened out so we can receive an abundance of His blessings instead of a little trickle. Amen.

The majority of people, if asked, would probably deny that they’ve ever wanted to draw attention to themselves, but the truth is, there is not a person in the world that at some time hasn‘t wanted to be center stage for one reason or another. It really comes down to an attitude of the heart and asking yourself, why am I doing this thing (whatever it may be) etc.? What is my heart motive? Plus, knowing and honestly admitting your limitations without God, while at the same time, knowing that with faith in God, there are no limitation to what your faith in Him and His Word can produce. It’s also coming to the place where you can truly say, ‘I don’t know nothing. I can be nothing, I can do nothing without Jesus.’ Jesus said in John 15:5, “Apart from Me, you can do nothing.” We move and breath and have our being in Him.

Am I saying we‘re hopeless? No. Phil.4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ (the Anointed One and His anointing) which strengthens me.” We CAN do (no limits) all things that God calls us to do through His anointing, which enables us to do SUPERnaturally, those things we can’t do on our own. HIS SUPER on our natural. It comes down to allowing the Holy Spirit to develope the right heart attitude in us based on our belief in God’s Word. It is also acknowleding the truth that without Jesus, we’re limited in what we can do, which is nothing. But with Him, we absolutely can do ALL things He calls us to do because His anointing enables and empowers us to. This is getting things in the right perspective, knowing your place in Him and knowing God’s place in ALL things, and taking the limits off to your faith! Hallelujah!

As for people wanting attention, like I mentioned earlier, there are many sincere people who truly do not want to be the center of attention. Thats because these people have been before God and as He’s brought revelation to them, they’ve settled this issue in their hearts. They have no “need” to be center-stage. They have no confusion whatsoever as to who is God and who is not. So what does this say to each of us? It says that we must be careful to stay in a place of humilty and faith, allowing God to be God in our lives. Allowing God to be God in all things concerning His Church and the world. We must refuse to pridefully follow Satan’s example and try to exalt ourselves above others in the body of Christ because the One we’re really exalting ourselves above is God Himself.

So what are we talking about? We’re talking about the spirit of anti-Christ. 1 John 4:3 says, “And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of anti-Christ, whereof you have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” How is it already in the world? The spirit of anti-Christ is in the hearts of men and women now who want to exalt themselves above God and steal His glory and worship for themselves.
