I see in the word RESTORE, the word REST…

To REST means to stop doing something…. To cease an activity… When walking up a hill, and I become tired, I don’t slow down, or change my gate, but I stop… A REST stop, is a pivotal point of change. A time to breathe, and be safe from momentum. To stop and examine the surroundings…

I also see the word STORE…

I am a storehouse of gifts. A place that God has stored great treasures in. But in being RESTORED, I become what I once was, a place that not only stores things, but also a place of giving out… A STORE is a place of giving out, but a storage house is a place forgotten… A wrapped gift is beautiful, but an unwrapped gift is a treasure… Restoration is unwrapping the gift! The word also tells of a future hope, as we look forward to what is in STORE…

I also see the word TORE… Herein lies the very need for healing… The reason for restoration. I’ve been torn, ripped, and broken… When God repairs my torn places, He makes me better than I was. He doesn’t come and just patch or sew new stitches, marking the places of mistake. He makes me new, stronger. So now, what was once an ugly scar marking my tearing, is a place now beautifully marked by the adornment of healing. It has become a benefit, a journey to be better than I was before, all because I was TORE…

I also see the word ORE… Which immediately I recognize as the treasure that is seeded deep within us… To be RESTORED is to seek all the dug places, the scarring of the earth, digging deep tunnels of pain processed, grief climbed over, all the labor and trial, to reach the deep place of wealth, that holds the bounty. This is the quest for the deep things, which is the CROWN of restoration…

What does RESTORE look like? You in the palm of the Almighty! Not as clay, but as a RESTORED vessel of honor, treasured far above rubies!
