Just a suggestion -- don't squat with your spurs on.

The other evening I watched a rerun of a 1970's Red Skelton show
complete with the original Johnson's Wax and Pet Milk
commercials. Skelton was a master at what he did, but guess what
-- the commercials were refreshing. They actually showed the
product and sold it. There wasn't any overkill of computerized
manipulation. You didn't have to guess at what they were selling --
it was straightforward.

I remember when we presented Christ the same way. The message
of the cross wasn't camouflaged in high tech hype. The message of
the cross of Christ is simple and effective when presented "as is."
We have gotten so used to the high tech TV world where no scene
is on the screen for more than three seconds that we think we have
to present the gospel the same way.

The KISS method still works -- "Keep It Simple, Sweetie." Jesus
Christ is still the same same yesterday, today and forever. He
doesn't need high tech manipulation. The story never changes --
man is still a sinner in need of a Savior -- don't cloud that message
-- it's the most important message in the world and still the most
effective when communicated "one on one."

2 Cor. 4:13, "But we continue to preach (witness) because we have
the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, "I believed in
God, and so I speak." Folks, we aren't the first generation to
discover faith in God, but it is our generation that desperately
needs to keep speaking the age old story that "Jesus Saves."
