In a town of Bethlehem
A special birth takes place,
In a manger made of hay
Lies a child of grace.

An angel with joyous tidings
Suddenly appears,
To the shepherds terrified
Saying “Do not fear”.

“Tonight a Saviour has been born
And this we'll say to you,
Before the breaking of the dawn
You'll believe it's true”.

Seeking out the holy child
The angel's truth was found,
Seeing a babe so divine
They all sang aloud.

From the east, three strangers came
Who followed a bright star ,
To a place of bright array
With joy in their hearts.

Gold, frankincense and myrrh
Were the gifts they brought to him,
All kneeling before the Saviour
They worship Christ the King.
