Poetry
Easel poised
Hexed canvas sits near shafts of morning light
Self portrait of roundness, lines and smock
Walls covered in strings of drying paper hanging
Canvas touched as artist speaks for the ghost to appear
Come to me self portrait.
Hold at bay the temptation
to embroider those small lips
or smooth creases of foolishness
Show yourself true or smear it up and paint a tree
