Encouragement
There was a gift for each of us left under the Tree of Life over 2,000 years ago.....
by Him Whose birthday we will soon celebrate.
It was made possible by:
The Incarnation (the real meaning of Christmas)
The Crucifixion (the real meaning of Good Friday)
The Resurrection (the real meaning of Easter).
This Gift is withheld from no one! Some have left the package unclaimed.
Some have accepted the Gift and carry it around, but fail to remove the wrappings...
and look inside to discover the Hidden Splendor.
The packages are all alike - wrapped up in Jesus Christ Who is...
The Way, The Truth and The Life.
In each package is written, "All that the Father has is thine, take and live!"
I'll never understand why people celebrate Christmas...
yet do not accept the Christ of CHRISTmas as Savior and Lord.
He is either a liar, a lunatic or Lord....you must decide.
Many intend to, but never get around to it.
Remember, the road to hell is paved with good intentions....
and by the Road of Bye and Bye, you reach the House of Never!
The big problem seems to be 'excuses' that lead to delay which leads to eternal regrets.
Excuses are 'reasons with holes in them' and God sees through everyone of them.
That first Christmas, there was barely room for Jesus.
Each year at Christmas, I always asked La Moyne to sing the song,
"Have You Any Room For Jesus?"
As you read the words, please examine your own life.
"HAVE YOU ANY ROOM FORĀ JESUS"
Have you any room for Jesus,
He who bore your load of sin?
As He knocks and asks admission,
Sinner, will you let Him in?
Room for pleasure, room for business -
But, for Christ the Crucified,
Not a place that He can enter,
In the heart for which He died?
Chorus;
Room for Jesus, King of glory!
Hasten now, His word obey;
Swing the heart's door widely open,
Bid Him enter while you may.
Have you any room for Jesus,
As in grace He calls again?
O today is time accepted,
Tomorrow you may call in vain.
Room and time now give to Jesus,
Soon will pass God's day of grace,
Soon Thy heart left cold and silent,
And thy Saviour's pleading cease.
Chorus;
Room for Jesus, King of glory!
Hasten now, His word obey;
Swing the heart's door widely open,
Bid Him enter while you may.
Daniel Webster Whittle (1840-1901)
For a person to say there is "No Room for Jesus" .....
is like the ocean saying that it has no room for the tide.....
or atmosphere having no room for air....
or the forest having no room for trees.
Jesus is not an elective....He is a Requirement!
Not a luxury, but an essential.
Augustine said, "Man is restless and will stay that way until he finds his rest in Christ".
A missionary wishing to teach about the Resurrection of Christ said:
"I am traveling and have come to a place where two roads meet.
I looked for a guide and saw two men....one dead and the Other, alive.
Whom should I ask for directions....the dead or the Living?"
The answer is evident because of the Resurrection of Jesus!
Accepting a gift is one thing.....
Expressing 'thanks' is another....
Using that gift is even more important...
This we do in relationship to God through Christ's Sacrificial Death and Resurrection.
By this, He provides full Salvation.
CONCLUSION:
In my 53+ years of ministry, I have found that the 'Roman Road to Salvation' is a very effective tool for witnessing.
Here is the Scriptures for The Roman Road:
Romans 3:23:
"All have sinned and have come short of the Glory of God".
Romans 5:8:
"God commends His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners....
Christ died for us."
Romans 6:23:
"The wages of sin is death, but the Gift of God is Eternal Life....
through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 10:9-13:
"If you will confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
For with the heart we believe unto righteousness and with the mouth...
confession is made unto salvation.
The Scripture says, Whosoever believes in Jesus shall not be ashamed (nor disappointed). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
So then faith comes by hearing...and hearing by the Word of God."
God does not want us 'wondering' whether we're saved or not. We can KNOW!
Romans 8:16 is very clear and helpful -
"God's Spirit (Holy Spirit) will bear witness with our spirit that we are (or are not) saved".
There is no need to go through life 'wondering' about your Eternal Destiny!
Life is too short and Eternity is long.....for you to not be sure!
Read the above Scriptures.....pray and seek God's affirmation.
If you've been helped by this, please pass it on to others.
Thank you....and may God BLESS you and your's!!!
