When I was a child,
I could not see what was ahead.
It was a dark place.
The light, it was dim.
I walked around looking,
Trying to find my way.
Fear had control of me.
It would not let me go.
Now I am much older,
But still a child in God's eyes.
I still wonder about things.
And, Oh! Yes, I still get scared,
But I know now, God is with me.
And when I have questions
He is always there.
He helps me in the hard times,
And is there rejoicing in the good.
So things are not so bad now.
Even in the pain.
For God is with me
Holding my hand;
As He shows me the way.
He never leaves my side,
He is there to teach me.
All I need to know.
And on one very happy day
I will be with Him in heaven.
Oh! What a joy that will be.
