Iv'e looked and looked at these squiggly lines and ran my thoughts over them a thousand times
About what I could write that would move your soul or say some profound words that would somehow leave you with hope
I've made an attempt at the right words for you to hear,
That you won't let them go in and out of your ears,
That you would find something more in the words I had to say,
and not see it as something that would just enlighten you today
But I can't
Whatever it is I wish to think are surely not my thoughts
And as beautiful as each poem that I write is, they're someone else's believe it or not
So be my guest and please take something from the words that I say
And let it do more for you later on
than just what it can do for you today
For all the words I want to say, I humbly swallow and let then subside
These words that pour out of me, they belong to the LORD and I am just His scribe
