SALVATION

On a darkened, dull, grey and dreary day
I see the clouds slowly break away
The fullness of your love shines through
It shows the awesome bright majesty of you

Though a heart be broken, damaged beyond repair
Your love shines through the clouds and finds it there
You reach so deep into that dark and sullen place
And start to shine your love, light & your grace

Without your love & hope there would be only fear
And there would be no sense or feeling of you near
But you loving bend down and pick up all the parts
Of a heart that is shattered, destroyed and torn apart

You lay your hands tenderly upon it and begin to mend
The hurt, the pain, the sorrow that has brought its end
Before your very eyes, with much blood, sweat and tears
You heal that heart of all its pain, made from many years

Of heartache and wrong decisions, of not following after you
Of living for ones selfish desires and careless choices too
As the heart nears completion of this healing underway
It feels the joy and peace that keeps the fear held at bay

It begins to accept the gift, which you gave so lovingly
On a cross where you hung and died, for every person, including me
And when the heart is fully healed, from all the sin & doubt
We see the eternal salvation, which Jesus had talked about

We are added to the family of God and one day we will share
As brothers & sisters of Jesus, and even be his true co-heirs
So as we continue our life now saved, redeemed as we abide
For now we are being continually perfected & sanctified

In God's holy image, his thoughts, his higher & perfect ways
Our true desire in the Lord is, to be used the rest of our days
