Fallen

Where did this madness begin?
The whole deception,
This web of lies counter threaded,
Tangled, oozing delusion, sickness
Rippling across the world, seeking power,
Seeking control, confusion,
Fed to children and their children�s children.

The aged act of self will?
Disobedience, a quest for knowledge,
Like a burning arrow through generations,
Piercing the innocent and transforming
Their lives into untold fathoms
Of cause and effect, delusion,
Shattering minds grasping for perception.

How shall you answer me oh my Creator?
How shall we ever come near to you?
Men follow men lured by greed,
The madness of ego, flattery, false prophets,
Driving the demons of lust,
Power, self seeking deception
Drowning humanity�s cry.

I taste the evil Lord. Yet, cling to a cross
Undeserving of you, overwhelmed, lost.
If I can but stand upon it�s shadow
And give to you my loss, my pain
Of years, the bitterness
Of lies, the ragged offering
Of trampled life and wretched suffering.

There shall I know the heart of Him
The One who sacrificed His son for me,
There will I know redemptions flame
That burns the dross, the wretchedness of sin,
The wretchedness of me.
Let Truth bind up the wounds
Of self destruction and of injury.

There shall forgiveness flood the land
And hope that maketh not ashamed,
Lift up my head in glorious praise
Give voice as Love leads to the Light
And there within that praise
Behold the Lamb who gathers in
His children and their children�s children.
