Searing pain assails the heart;
disbelief plays an awful part
no reason for this experience,
hurt emerges to prominence.

The rumbling storm of great shock
blows quite unabated in the mind
for the origin of friend's disloyalty
who is neither faithful, loving or kind.

Myriad of unanswered questions
swim in the swirling tide horror
from within the tumultuous waves
a glimmer of hope faintly shines.

Memory of God's promises appear
God is always with us to allay;
His providence insurmountable
replaces the intermittent cross.

We bear all life's disappointments
God always makes all things good
His righteous power steers our lives
the circumstances as He alone could.

We love Him as He works untiringly
we receive love most graciously
Yesterday's occurrence is His way
of flexing his muscles everyday.
